Dear Arts and Entertainment Lover,

Welcome to our last program for 2022.

As part of this year’s Milbi Festival we will present one performance of the iconic Australian play The Summer of the Seventeenth Doll by Ray Lawler AM OBE – who celebrated his 101st birthday in May this year.

Our free community film program continues with the romantic comedy Queen Bees presented as part of Senior’s Week; followed by the deeply moving multicultural Australian film Here Out West; and for families during the school holidays, we have the Disney/Pixar musical blockbuster Encanto.

This year we also celebrate Christmas at the Moncrieff with some very special yuletide events including NOEL – A Christmas Concert, featuring some of Bundaberg’s most popular performers, and a screening of the beloved Christmas movie classic White Christmas.

Hope to see you soon at the Moncrieff.

Paul Dellit OAM
Manager, Moncrieff Entertainment Centre

Chris Hurst
Australian abstract and modern artist

October - December
When: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm and one hour prior to public performances

Chris Hurst is an experienced painter with a passion for colour and mark making. Chris is largely a self-taught artist who has painted all through her life. She spent many years of her career painting in a naïve style, and achieved success obtaining gallery representation from Pages Gallery in Noosa and holding several solo exhibitions.

Hurst has also participated in numerous group exhibitions throughout Queensland and has sold her artworks worldwide. Recently she has stepped away from her naïve style in search of a new and more fluid form of expression. The scope of Chris’s works will change across the duration of this exhibition.
