Sports ON! Information Session

This free event will give local sports clubs the opportunity to hear from Local, State and Federal Government representatives about the latest grant opportunities, practical strategies and programs designed to help strengthen their organisations.
The evening will be hosted by Member for Burnett Stephen Bennett, Member for Hinkler David Batt and Bundaberg Regional Council Deputy Mayor Councillor Steve Cooper.
Foundations for Thriving Community Clubs
When: Saturday 14 February 2026

Three sessions running from 8.30 am - 2 pm
Foundations for Thriving Community Clubs is designed for all community organisations. The workshops support sporting clubs, arts and cultural groups, service organisations and volunteer‑run not‑for‑profits.
They offer practical strategies for good governance, volunteer engagement, financial sustainability and creating safer, more resilient club environments.
Session 1 - Good Governance in the Real World

The sessions will be delivered by General Manager of CPR Group, Steve Connelly, an expert in the field who has over 28-years of experience working with national, state, regional and local community, sport and recreation organisation, local councils, universities and state governments.
